Job Summary & Key Responsibilities:

The accountant will report directly to the General Manager in Bundibugyo and serve as the coordinator of finance and accounts for the company across operations and products. This includes the following responsibilities:

  • Effectively oversee & manage cashiers, store managers and procurement officers

  • Track and organize company documentation including expense receipts, delivery documentation, employee contracts etc. with assistance from Operations Manager and Cashier

  • Review and submit weekly account reports to GM on stock and finance compiled by store managers and cashiers

  • Oversee logistics of fulfilling sales and delivery contracts

  • Coordinate banking, payroll, and routine taxes (PAYE, VAT, and NSSF)

  • Coordinate routine audit of accounts and submission of tax returns

  • File invoices and follow-up with customers on receivables

  • Development of financial projection models and grant proposals

  • Coordinate fulfillment of any requirements for financiers or donors

Required Experience:

  • Fluent English

  • 2-3 years of experience as an accountant in Ugandan registered company

  • Previous management experience or experience overseeing field activities

  • Degree in relevant Accounting or Finance field, CPA or ACA preferred

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office and Quickbooks (required)

  • Good communication skills via email, phone, and report writing

  • Willingness to relocate to a rural area for extended periods
