FumbaSmart’s cooking solution is based on an innovative 2 burner cook-stand specifically designed to fit the needs of low-income households. FumbaSmart gives low-income consumers access to a modern cooking solution that they can repay over time as a result of FumbaSmart’s pay-as-you-go technology. FumbaSmart’s cooking system uses Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) which is cleaner, cheaper and easier to use than traditional cooking fuel.

Job Summary

FumbaSmart, is currently looking for a talented and self-motivated Electrical Engineering Intern to support the development team. The Electrical Engineering Intern will work across a variety of tasks that directly involves the development of a smart pay-as-you-go gas controller.

Key Responsibilities

This individual will report to the Chief Operating Officer. Responsibilities include:

  • Support of surface mount design of control board;
  • Development of low power control board;
  • Testing of electronic components and boards;
  • Support with Arduino related topics;
  • Support manufacturing of different subsystems

Key Requirements:

  • Attending university for a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent;
  • Experience to program in one of the languages Arduino C, C or C++;
  • Competent in the use of electrical engineering software;
  • Practical experience with breadboarding and soldering;
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
