Inyenyeri is a high-growth energy start-up, dedicated to eliminating household air pollution and reversing the national wood deficit in Rwanda. Inyenyeri utilizes an innovative business model to provide the world’s cleanest solid biomass cook-stoves and fuel pellets to its customers at affordable monthly prices. Inyenyeri works in four districts in Rwanda. Headquartered in Kigali, with an office in Rubavu and a project in Kigeme refugee camp, Inyenyeri currently has over 110 employees and plans to rapidly expand its team as it scales the business model across Rwanda.

Job Summary

The Inventory Manager will be responsible for handling stoves and pellets inventory, management and distribution, as well as developing comprehensive inventory tracking system.

Key Responsibilities

As Inventory Manager, this individual will report to the Procurement & Recruitment Manager and be responsible for the following:

  • Identify most suitable inventory management system for Inyenyeri's stove and pellet supply chain management
  • Lead the installation and integration of the selected inventory management system
  • Devise ways to optimize inventory control procedures
  • Develop and generate daily, weekly and monthly stock level reports
  • Manage warehouses and distribution points and lead inspection of stock levels to identify potential shortages
  • Ensure product stock is adequate for all distribution channels and can cover direct demand from customers
  • Forecast stove and pellet distribution as well as the need to order more stove and the need to produce more pellets
  • Manage a team of stock and warehouse employees, around the country

Key Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven experience as inventory manager or similar position
  • Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
  • Working knowledge of inventory management software (e.g. ERP) and experience in setting up and integrating an ERP system into an organization
  • Ability to accurately track inventory and create reports
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. CPIM) will be a plus
  • Excellent English required
  • Knowledge of Kinyarwanda
  • An analytical mind with strong math skills
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Pragmatism and strong problem-solving skills

  • BSc/BA in business administration, logistics or relevant field (Master's degree preferred)
