The Pastry Chef role will report to and work closely with the Managing Director serving as the coordinator of chocolate production, product development and marketing overseeing 3-5 assisting staff. This includes but is not limited to the following responsibilities:
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Implement production protocols for roasting, refining, and finishing chocolate.
Product development and testing for all product lines – bars, bonbons, and desserts.
Oversight of chocolate assistants and other factory staff and production.
Implementation of quality management and food safety systems.
Management of inventory, supplies, storage and production records.
Contribute to idea generation for products and marketing avenues.
Development and implementation of B2B customer pastry trainings.
Compliance of certifications and licenses for food production.
Assist in marketing of B2B product lines through production of samples and outreach.
Highly motivated outgoing candidate with great attention to detail.
Fluent spoken and written English (required.)
3+ years’ experience in fine dining pastry, desert, or bakery (required).
Previous experience development and overseeing training programs (required).
Excellent communication and organization skills.
Commitment to training programs that maximize individual and organization goals across the organization including best practices in human resources activities.
